E-scales linked to a database
The 2015 proposal
Locked electronic scales, activated by swiping dealer and Kisan cards, recording every weighment to a central database.
Where it stands in 2026
Realised inside the e-NAM mandi workflow — gate entry, lot ID, electronic weighbridge, quality assaying, e-auction and direct bank payment.
The open gap
Coverage is limited to integrated mandis.
How to sustain & deepen it
Extend the e-NAM gate-weigh-assay-pay workflow beyond integrated mandis to every regulated market and the FPO collection centre, so price discovery doesn't stop at the mandi gate.
