GPS-based logistics
The 2015 proposal
GPS-based logistics — track vehicles for accountability and tracing, and to prevent black-marketing.
Where it stands in 2026
Now commodity infrastructure: the AIS-140 GPS mandate in commercial vehicles, FASTag, and the Unified Logistics Interface Platform (ULIP) APIs.
The open gap
Cold-chain telemetry adoption is still early.
How to sustain & deepen it
Make cold-chain telemetry standard, not optional — temperature and location on ULIP for perishables — so logistics data closes the post-harvest-loss loop, not just tracks the truck.
